I have always been interested in houses and real estate.  My dad was a custom cabinet maker and worked on some really luxurious job sites when I was growing up.  I used to draw up housing floor plans as a kid and even designed my first intentional community when I was about 10 years old (with a center house library of Atari games).  I grew up in Houston, Texas and moved around a lot until joining the Air Force. I moved at least 30 times during my childhood, so I always dreamed of owning my own house someday. My husband and I moved to Seattle in 1991 where we have lived in several distinct areas (Redmond, Kent, West Seattle, Woodinville and Bothell).  We were able to buy our first house in West Seattle using our VA loan and a first-time buyer program, which made all the difference in the life I was able to build for myself.

Now that our 3 children our mostly grown and I have seen them struggle to buy houses as well, it has driven me to find ways of helping others fulfil their dreams.

Let me know if you want more information, or if you just want to work through your possibilities.  I feel passionately that everyone should be able to buy a house if they want one, and I have been researching the many programs available.
