This past week my Step-Dad Dave, had a situation that had him on the floor of his home, by himself for over 18 hours.  It took him that long to “crawl, scootch, push, pull” himself through the house to get to his phone to call his neighbor for help.  It then took him another 24 hours to call me, now stuck in a camp chair in his home, for help. (Thank You John Lewis for your clear thinking and telling me how to do the simplest 911 call transfer).  Dave was transported to the ER in Bellingham where I was able to meet him that afternoon and all of the coordinating was going to start!  He was admitted that evening and then finally transferred to a skilled nursing facility in Lynden on Valentines day.  Now the work of finding his assisted living residence.  He is not returning to his home, and my work of cleaning, liquidating, and getting his next phase in life planned & organized. Now this process is going to be topics that I share as I learn & understand more.  I will share with you as much as I can, because you never really know what to do, what to ask, who to ask, how to prepare for this.

Ultimately I am VERY VERY Grateful for my amazing all knowing group of friends, family, & clients that I know to be as “My Tribe”.  All of you reading this have a connection that I value, that brings me joy, helps me be curious, drives me to reach for the stars, challenges me to learn, encourages me to see beyond my fear, allows me to be vulnerable, to be seen, heard, silly, creative, honest, and much more.  All of you, and the people I have not even met yet are what I am most grateful for.
